So Winter's well under way in Australia, bringing in cooler (and often wet) weather, but never despair! As shown by the famous above, pretty much anyone can trench it up and pull the look off for any occasion, whether/not there may be rain.
A few great things about the trench:
- They can be teamed with lots of different shoes, including boots, flats, sandals, pumps, etc.
- A huge range of trenches are available in different fabrics, including warm wools, satins, light poly-blends and even suedes
- Trenches are stylish ways to keep warm in winter, and for the brave, can be worn by themselves with stockings as 'trench-dresses'
- Super versatility (i.e. for formal, casual and work occasions) means that they are virtually investment pieces
- Particularly when belted or cinched at the waist, trenches are very flattering
Personally, I prefer trenches with wide lapels and thinner belts because their volume helps balance out body shapes to give the illusion of a smaller waist. Thinner belts at the waist (about two inches above your belly button) are usually the most flattering of places to belt, though you can also do without belts at all!
At the moment, trenches and coats are available on sale at Voi at up to 75% off RRP. We have quite a few Armani and D&G trenches that are on sale, along with other brands including Blumarine. Sale stock is strictly limited, so to trench it up, hurry in-store ASAP to grab those investment pieces that really are worth it!
For those of you who haven't checked out Dolce & Gabbana's latest FW10 collection for women, here's a quick pick of a few pieces and looks that struck me.

In the collection, classic Dolce & Gabbana pieces were exhibited with lush velvets, beautiful prints and bold accessories. To its entirety the Dolce & Gabbana FW10 collection practically meets the demands of a stylishly primped business woman, with many classically tailored office-suited garments that could easily be brought from day to night. Knits were incorporated into all sorts of pieces, from knee-high boots to skirt suits, making for stylish comfort all day long.
Watch out for our exclusive Dolce & Gabbana sale which will be happening the day after our Winter Fashion Party, both events being held at the Ivy (opposite Wynyard Station on George St, Sydney). The date is to be confirmed, so watch this space!
